Cooling issue #892 Traffic idle temps creeping

Haha! The cooling on my car might be ok im kinda scared to drive it a far distance though .. just because it only has 150 miles on the engine i dont want to have anything "happen" and then im stranded

Well I went to the fan man and ordered new fans ( im mounted on the condensor side thats why they are pushers )

http://www.the-fan-man.com/shop/size-push-part-2030-p-199.html

I purchased different ones because of the total amps . And so that I could run it on the original circut without having to have a "switch" inside the car like I do now .. Watching your turbo timer count down gets old heh.

If these dont solve my issue , pressure is getting by somewhere which means time to pull the head heh. ( worst case i suppose )

Anyway im off to buy an overpriced amp hook up kit from best buy since the place that sells those kind of things for cheap is about 30 minutes which means ... over heating :( (so i think)

do you have a/c? the reason i ask is because if you dont you can just switch your a/c on the first level and make sure that green light is on that push switch and it will leave your fans on untill the car shuts off...

LOL the other fan in the link is over 100 , I was driving around a good bit today ( cant go above
3500 since engine is still breaking in ) and the car wasnt over heating but you could tell it was VERY slowly creeping .. I figure its a good deal for the summer just so im safe.

A/C is gone , Because of the fmic ... All lines and compressor are intact alough ill ###### remove them since I dont feel like getting custom lines etc. ( I wanted to keep A/C , but i got a call "had to remove the canister cause of FMIC problems ) which dejon does state but i could of gotten a different FMIC .

sucks cause the total on the fans was 200+ , I still need to order new 1000cc's , new b pads , ss lines , air filter , better exhaust cover ( i dont NEED it but man , that one is just ugly ) , catch can since i lost mine , mech lost my perrin mbc , oil pressure is not hooked up because there is no "sensor" .. just little things i need to fix .

Oh ya and im getting drippage from the driver side ( greenish , so diff/tran ) probably just the axel seal .. still a pita though.

LOLoLOL , Ya I don't think im going todo mototune fry your rings method . Really curious how people found that and if anyone has actually done it .

Not all machine shops use the latest up to date equipment either so it doesnt always apply . I like this site and im glad ive posted here but there is some horrible information . And it comes from people well over 1000 posts .

I dont know everything about these cars but I have screwed up enough times to understand what is the correct way of doing things and what isnt . ( regardless if i can afford it or not )

Luckily there are people that do know what they are talking about in certain areas ( like yourself ) and are helpful.

imagine if i were to get the hood vent , hack my bumper etc .. All because I needed to swap a single fan :/ ( I bought 2 expensive ones because over kill is cute ). Anyway 1200 more miles and ill pop 1000cc's on it and tune it . I am hoping for 385-425hp alough im pretty sure I could go past that if I wanted to with my setup

yeah hard break in's FTW. for the most part people tend to just do there own break in method BUT to prove my point do you think shep drives around his car for 1k miles before he goes and makes a 7 second pass?????ROFL

I just relized, You are Brian! What up?
<----newdsmman
FYI, Jose recomends the hard break in... who built your motor?

hahaha you just now figured that out jail bird? :) james did , alough Im taking it to jose to fix some stuff. Really sucked today.. Went to deltona ( about 28-32 miles I guess ) .. Man the car needs an alignment BAD . I would say the shakes are about a inch and a half on the wheel .

I also found out something even worse that I dont know how im going to solve really , Now that I dont have a/c ( id like to get a smaller condensor and that can thingy and relocate them but im going to guess that custom a/c lines are overly expensive ) When it was raining today and i had the windows up.. I was screwed . Even worse I had a friend in the car and felt so embarrased cause we had to pull over and go into a chillis order some drinks and wait 2 hours before the rain stopped so I could have the windows down.

Luckily though I have some Fog Tech ( which is probably the best anti fog solution ) .. Just sucks cause i will have to use the whole bottle on the inside with hopefully some left over todo a small patch on the back window.

And another thing , My legs are getting hot , like HOT HOT ( feels like i have my a/c set to heat and choosing "blow through" as the setting with having it off ) . Yet there are no huge holes in the firewall besides the small poke for my boost gauge . Ill have to get it fixed or figure something out by summer even if I have to heat sheild the whole firewall . Today was not scorching by any means and my legs were sweating.

I do have a small question , slimlines normally blow fuses / relays if you have them connected to the oem\stock fan connectors , What can I do to have them hooked up with ignition on and not blow or fry anything?

349 miles so far.

No im sure none of those guys do , They probably set the idles at various speeds for a certain amount of time though . I'm taking 0 chances though with this car I want to hammer the gas so bad but uhm id rather have a nicely broken in engine , than a perfect one where I gain 15 extra horse power and risk frying something .

No mechanic / engine builder is perfect , so i rather not pound on the gas for the first 20 miles just to have a oil filter gasket blow off and similar things. Good example is when my car was first put togethor it had a major over heating issue ( got to 3/4's driving it slow as hell so i pulled over ) now if i were todo that break in method and if i were to slam the gas once it was at half way . im sure it would of been in the red zone and risked alot of stuff.

Id like to see this method applied to a force inducted car and not a n/a motorcycle that with light riding you are hitting 10k anyway ( on a 600cc )

think i have food poisoning from chilis =/

That mototune method is for complete idiots! That guy has zero credibility, no one has really ever heard of him. His claim to fame is his website with his bs ideas. I wonder why no engine manufacturer including cars, bikes, mowers, weed eaters, model airplane, etc. recommend beating the p!$$ out of an engine to break it in? If this was such a great idea you would think that engine manufacturers with hundreds of years of research behind them would have figured it out by now right?. I wish someone would pull that idiotic site down and run the guy out of town. Tell you what, do a compression test with both break-in methods and see if there is any compression difference, there wont be! Dyno both engines with both methods of break-in, there will be zero difference in hp. The difference will be in how long the engine will live. The properly broken in engine (slowly as all manufacurers recommend) will live way longer, and be alot more quiet. To each his own though. Remeber that Brent Rau's car only has to run for 7 seconds!!!

im not going to get into it about proper break in because everyone really has a diffrent view and it isnt POSITIVE who is right and who is wrong...

anyways, did you log coolant temps? i would like to compair mine to yours. all of a sudden im running a little hot at idle 213 on a cool day. and i cant figure out why because both of my fans are working there asses off...

I wont untill awhile from now , my sister in L.A. had her computer break so i sent her my laptop . :/ Ill need to buy another one . so I get paid weds and ill order it so probably next tues ill have it :( ..
