Coolent temp. sensor more issues

After replacing my ecu coolent temp sensor I cleared out the code and it stayed off for about 24 hours and then the check light came back on..Im kinda at a loss here not sure what else to do

What is the other code for? whats the new code read? what did you clear it with?

The codes are the same as before P0125 coolent temp. closed loop and P0170 fuel trim bank 1 ...as far as the reader its just an obd2 reader ..I guess? Its orange if the helps any?

I realize on ODBII sites (like obd-codes.com) P0125 says "Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control" but on a dsm it's "Excessive time to enter Closed Loop Fuel Control" and it's nearly always a bad front O2 sensor. Even the Mitsu manual lists this as the remedy (see p. 13A-159 of 97-99ECB Backup manual).

ah ya...i never even thought of an 02 ...that would make sense...but should it throw some sort of 02 sensor code?

Usually but O2 is another possible cause of P0125. If you can get a voltmeter on it you can check the O2 voltage swings.

I have a voltmeter whats a healthy range for an o2??

It should be switching oscillating in the range of .1-.9V. I got the same code when my 02 sensor went out.

Good to know. I'm having the same issue with the P0125 code. Replaced my ETC, thermostat and checked coolant level and it still throw the code. I'll replace my front O2 sensor tomorrow and pray it's also resolved.

I have the same codes. Will this cause my 95 tsi awd to stutter under boost??? Also, white puffs of smoke every now and again when coming to a stop. Not alot of smoke just alittle then it stops. I've been driving it and it's ok for the most part. I will try new o2 but my main question is about the stutter at 5 psi. Is this "limp mode" bc of fuel trim. Thanks for the help. I've put almost 1k with the code. I love this car I'm 40 and at my age this is my choice of car. I hated my Audi a4 and will never go back to that POS.
