Cobble Hill,
I have noticed that a few sites are now offering a way to convert your Non Eprom 1g ecu to an eprom to be able to use ecm link v3. has anyone done this themselves? if so, how?

I don't think ECM Tuning (aka DSMLink) is so much converting them to eproms, as they are installing a daughter board to run they're chips and memory boards. I could be wrong though, but that was my understanding from the couple posts that I've read about it. You could PM Tom (twdorris on here) directly and ask him.

I thought about this very very long ago... the only thing that makes me suspicious of the DSMLink conversion is that on their site it says that it will not work w/ V2.... which tells me that it may not work with your standard eprom tuning options like a Keydiver chip or an eprom emulator. That *could* be just because they want you to buy their newest product. Given the "anything is possible" idea, I see no reason why a turbo non eprom ecu couldn't be turned into an eprom ecu.

I guess it'd be important to know where the ecu's instructions are stored on the non eprom unit and how the ecu's processor gets this info. A PCB schematic would definitely help, I know Mitsu doesn't hand these out so someone good w/ electronics would have to trace all this out and document it. I'm going to subscribe to this thread to see if any knowledgeable people come out of the woodwork to add their insight.
