Converting from a Internal Gate on a turbo to a External

Hi, I have a question. I am about to convert from a Internal Gate on a turbo to a External. I know I have to remove the flapper but what do I do with that little arm that is there to move it does I just remove the whole thing and weld it up or leave the arm in there? If anyone did it before can you give me some pointers or ideas thank you.

If your wastegate is going on the manifold, you need to have the flapper welded shut.

If your wastegate is going on the O2 housing, you need to remove the flapper and the arm that connects the flapper to the actuator. Then you need to somehow plug that hole...having it welded up would be the best option, but I have heard of people using a bolt in the hole. Or you can be ghetto like me and just remove the actuator and let the flapper flap. I have plans to remove it, but boy am I lazy!

HI thank you for reply I will have the gate on the o2 so i will just take the slapper off and weld up the hole and make the hole bigger in there where the flapper was so i dont get boost creep
