I have a 96 Spyder. The motor and top worked fine when purchased, but took left rear window motor was taken out to fix the plastic on actuall glass. Was putting up/down manually for a couple months.
Now I've fixed window, and reinstalled window motor. I went to test the power top, and got nothing. The motor made sounds like its working fine, but got no reaction from top itself.
And yes, I've switched the manual/power button in trunk.
Any thoughts? I'm lost and pissed. I hate things that don't work on my baby. :dsm:

It is not because you've been putting the top up and down manually. Keep in mind that your car is 10+ years old and these things happen.

Generally what kills the pins faster is anything that puts extra stress on them such as trying to open the top while the latches are still closed or placing objects on the top while it is in the open position (common after parades if you have a girl sitting on top of the top of the back seat and she puts weight on the top). Whole rebuilt motors are pretty reasonable as long as you aren't having the dealership do the work.
