rebuilding this engine has me at a stand still. connecting rods were not numbered upon removal. they were stamped to tell what side the cap goes on, and numbered 1-4 on the piston itself but not on the rod
So when the rods came back from the machine shop after having the pistons pressed off, im stuck trying to figure out if it matters which ones are 1-4. there are casted numbers on the I beam of the rod, and also on the cap. 2 out of the 4 rods are the same letters and numbers, and the other two are diff from all the rest. does anybody know or have a block laying around that they could look at. Im sure this has happened before. or does it even matter which order they go. Its 6 bolt engine.
