OK trying to make this as easy as possible. I got this 98 GSX a couple months ago and trying to get all the bugs out of it. I'm now up to the power steering. The whole system was messed up when i got the car. I replaced both pressure lines. I am getting air in the system everyday. I bled the sytem and everything will be ok for about a day. I also still have a leak and the brake booster keeps getting soaked so i know it's back there. The pressure line i changed is bone dry. The only other hose back there is the rack to return hose. I went to my local auto parts store and they said it's just a lenght of 3/8 hose. I also went on auto zone and they say the same thing. But it is not. Right at the brake booster it's just the 3/8 hose but if you follow it down it changes to a chimped fitting and then into a metal line to that pipe/flare fitting that goes right into the rack can anyone help. It's a 6bolt swap so i checked a return hose on all year 1g just to make sure and they also have the return hose listed as just a lenght of hose. Please help

OK well i can't get pics up until about 6-7pm tonight but how about this. Return hose from the rack on a 98 GSX anybody every did it? Do you remember the part number? Is it just a lenght of hose?

What is your method for bleeding the system?

Also, how do you know it's the power steering leaking onto the brake booster? You do realize that the fluid would have to defy gravity and leak upward about a foot from the rack to the booster, right? Unless of course the line has a hole or a tear right where it passes by the booster - in which case, it would be very easy to find and identify.

Not so sure about easy.. If it was easy it would of been fixed. I don't mean to sound like a ass but i know what am doing (kinda cause i can't find this damn leak):p. But of course i realize that. Thats why i asked if anybody changed the line. But really it's not like i can't change a tire or something along those lines. I have rebuilt 6 engine 4 of them being 4g63's in my garage. Before any smart asses get on here NO it was the same engine 4 times :nono:. 4 different 4g63's and they were perfect. Anyway i don't want to go manual but thanks for the suggestion (other person who posted). But not for nothing this is why i really don't come on here that much. I never get good advice i always get shot down and talked to like am a dumb ass. I got 3 people to write on here. So nobody on here every changed this line or had the brake booster soaked with power steering fluid.... But that boycott the EA games and other hangout post are booming. Almost all the tech post get the answer "SEARCH it's been posted before" Then what the hell is the point of this site... It should be changed to www.if/you/drive/a/dsm/come/bulshit...d/to/dsm/if/you/want/people/to/post/,helpless
