hey I was just curious about my compression test results. My car test results were
175-175-170-170 My car has stock head studs and I was just wondering if maybe I have a aftermarket head gasket or something. My car has a engine swap and I don't know anything about it. I thought that normal compression peaked 165.

I don't know much about compression at all. thanks.

"standard" compression is listed as 178 psi. 180 psi is considered pretty normal. Above that and you might have carbon build up or a head/block that was resurfaced many times. Service limit is listed as 133psi. As long as you are above 133psi with no more than 15psi difference between any two cylinders you should be good to go!

I didn't see it in your profile, but I assume you're using stock cams? Big cams can throw the numbers a bit but yours are fine.

Low numbers typically mean your rings are bad. High numbers can mean someone got a little aggressive on the resurfacing.

good ol' SlowSX. maybe you shouldn't stutter box all the time pulling into work? LOL. one month till tSi is running again.

oh crap i dont mean to jack your post but i just got a compression test done and is as follows

120 120 90 150

this must be bad shall i post a new post ?

Ya that's bad, do a leak down test and make a new post with the results.

OP - those numbers look damn good, how many miles on the engine?

yea unfortunately second numbers are pretty bad, had it been sitting awhile ? try doing a test after it had warmed up idlign a bit
