Well...i installed an evo3 16g, as well as a FMIC. right now i am on stock fuel, but he T25 blew so i had to do something. im only running off the wastegate on the 16g right now...anyways. it seems to pull pretty good. but after a couple pulls, white smoke started coming out of the exhaust, when i open the hood i can see smoke just come out around the hood. not like a ton but definetly noticeable. also i definelty has a stench to it...

i was doing a few searches on here and thought it could be a headgasket. the turbo is brand new. there is no shaft play. the car is to hot right now to check the coolant or the oil.

I would start off by doing a compression test. http://www.dsmgrrrl.com/FAQs/compression.htm

White smoke generally means coolant is entering the combustion chamber. Is there coolant in your oil, or oil in your coolant? Does it smell sweet? Those would be definite signs of a headgasket.

You could be doing some SERIOUS damage to your engine by running without a boost controller and on the stock fuel system. The 16g is notorious for boost creep. You should not drive your car until you get a boost gauge and boost controller so that you can turn your boost down to 11-12psi. And upgrade your fuel system ASAP. :beatentodeath:

Let us know how the compression test goes or if you find coolant mixed with the oil. Good luck.

i havent been able to do a compression test yet...ive been driving it but not boosting on it...i checked both the coolant and the oil...both seem to be normal. the car drives completely fine. just has random instances of getting hot...if the temp guage was a gas guage i would say it almost gets to 3/4 tank. i keep an eye on it all the time now and never let it raise more than maybe 1/8 of an inch...

sometimes after a longer drive it smells i dont know if its coolant or oil...nothing comes out of the exhaust anymore. i think that could have just been from the blown t25...however when i pop the hood sometimes seems like a white or greyish smoke coming from around the intake manifold or underneath...maybe something is leaking onto a hot surface and burning?

could it also just be getting hot due to the FMIC in place and im in AZ with very hot climate?

ONCE AGAIN I WOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET A BOOST GAUGE AND BOOST CONTROLER! 200.00 DOLLARS IS ALOT CHEAPER THAN A NEW MOTOR. The only time that should affect you is if you are cruising for some distance where there would be no flow. Try the norm, coolant flush, t stat. Good Luck
