As many of you may know I have been having issues with idle surge. Been following Terrys Troubleshooting. I re-did my BLT and all of the air escaped through the dipstick. Whether or not its related, I decided to do a compression test following VFAQ. First results were 140-135-135-135. I then performed a wet test and got 160-165-160-160. From my understanding this is a sign or worn/bad piston rings. Any advice from here?

Do aleak down test.

See what percentage you are loosing and report back

That I can not say. Hopefully another will chime in and let you know.

im not exactly sure what the motor should run for compression. but seeing that the numbers are all very close is a good sign. that means there are no catastrophic failures to just 1of the pistons or valves anyway. compression checks are better at checking consistency then they are overall shape of the motor. thats where a leakdown test would come into play.
