Well to start off, this car hadn't run in 7 yrs and I have been trying to get it running. I put a new head on the car and did a lot of other maintanance. What I thought was the last problem in getting it to function properly was that the car was overheating badly. I decided to do a compression test and leak down test to see the condition of my motor for curiousity.

The results are not pretty.:toobad: oh, and btw, just a couple weeks earlier I tested only cyl. 1 b/c it was dead and it held ~ 142

Compression:

cyl 1: 132 (but went down quickly)
cyl 2: 112 (held decently)
cyl 3: 112 (held decently also)
cyl 4: 118 (slowly went down)

Leakage:

cyl 1: excessive >60% blowing into cyl 2 and coolant
cyl 2: excessive >60% blowing into cyl. 3 +1
cyl 3: didn't even bother doing.
cyl 4: excessive >60% blowing badly into cyl. 3

So to state the obvious, the headgasket is gone even though I replaced it when I put the new head on .

My question is what else could be wrong here? Do you think that replacing the headgasket is all the engine needs? What else should I do while I tear the engine down?...again

Sounds like a warped head.... did you have the head checked?

No I didn't. I was told that the head I put on was freshly rebuilt, and it looked it too. This is the first time I've ever done something like this and didn't know that was something to be done. Same with pressurizing the head. :banghead::ohdamn:

HG or cracked/warped head. Only two ways the pressure gets to water from the cylinder.

The bad news is that if it wasn't warped it might be now.

but thanks for the help.
