I have a 6 bolt swapped 2g FWD TSI. Its a project and I had a brain fart when taking off the wires and need help identifying what kind of wires even go on this thing/ what kind of rigged up coilpack it was swapped to. Ive included some pics and if anyone could help me identify what wires it needs and what order they go in it would be super helpful.

If your using a non 95-96 CAS your order needs to be like this.

Thanks, i will give that a try today. I should have marked them but was too busy getting everything else taken off and replaced.

Would you happen to recognize that coilpack? The oem wires for a 6 bolt don't match up to that coilpack. Ive tried looking up the brand/ part number on it but haven't been successful in getting an answer.

What you mean the wires are matching up? The spark plug wires? That is a oem coil. I just looked at mine and its the same thing. Is that where the coilpack was mounted when you got the car. Thats not OEM location. But the coil is a OEM for sure. If your having a spark issue, maybe your transister is bad.

If thats the oem coilpack then good ole advance auto just gave me the wrong plugs twice. I'm glad you cleared that up for me. And yes it is welded there unfortunately. I am getting spark i think im going to work on making sure i have my vac lines running right and swapping out my 1g manifold with a 2g and my o2 dump and see if she will run right.

You cleared up my issue whenever you linked me the diagram on how the wires went to each plug and told me i had an oem coilpack. that was my main issue.

Here is a great link for the vacuum diagram. Just make sure your hoses are not cracking. I wouldn't recommend deleting anything until you get her running right.

So auto parts gave you the wrong spark plug wires? I would get new spark plugs to. Can you get a pic of the whole wire that is wrong? I have a extra set of wires that were used for a month. Pm me if interested. But if I were you get Ngk bpr7es plugs and Ngk wires if you can.

Well i wanted to pick up a project car that i could eventually DD with a few weekends of work. Its a 95 TSI FWD with a 6 bolt swap is what i was told. When i purchased it she was running, i watched it idle for approx. 30 mins no problems/knocks/odd sounds and it would run, backfired once or twice and would barely hit boost (you'll see why). We pulled the oilpan before i bought it and found what i assumed was a piece of the old head because me nor my toyota tech friend could find anything wrong or missing with the bottom end.

Tranny VIN, as I have 0 idea what kinda of 6 bolt this is, all I know is that they were made from 89-92 and aren't into that crankwalk thing that the 7 bolts sometimes do.

PO said it had a hyundai head, i had no idea they made heads for DSMs but apparently they do.

Here are a few pieces of the old piping.

Yes those are stereo spades connecting my CAS, I have ordered the magnus racing adapter harness to fix that ><

What I have done/ discovered about it in the past 2 weekends:

-It has a N/A throttle body, since i had to cut the flange off my IC piping to fit onto the intake manifold.

-Installed the PR/CXRACING FMIC Kit to replace the wimpy little sidemount

-replaced the plugs

-ADDED a coolant overflow tank, it had a tube dumping coolant before.

-I was going to use the old 1G turbo exhaust manifold, but i am picking up a 2G with a heat sheild later this week and putting on my o2 dump and then finishing up with a 3inch custom exhaust, cat, and muffler.

Right now if i crank it up she idles for about 15 seconds-1 minute, will backfire and cut off. It has a lot of exhaust leaks right now and im not 100% if the vac lines are all connected correctly.

This weekend i am replacing the oilpan as its beat to hell and there is a crack by the return line on the old one and I am swapping the 2G exhaust manifold on, fixing the huge bubble in my radiator that is making her overheat in places and bleeding my clutch and installing a new boost/oil pressure gauge.

If you can think of anything else i need to check or do i would appreciate it, as I am a newbie to dsm in general and all my friends are nissan or honda fanatics. :banghead:

They kept giving wires with an L shape connector on 2 of them. Kinda had me confused.

Also, I tried the wires with the diagram for a swapped 2G and my CAS is a non 95/96 by what i saw. However, this setup is what ended up working.

Thats what i was considering with the dump honestly. Its a huge exhaust leak bc its missing 2 bolts atm and is way too loud.

Thank you for your help man.
