anyone got pics of how they mounted the stock coil on the forrester intake and where still able to utilize the bungs for nitrous foggers?

or should I say to hell with it and buy coil on plug?

Not stock coils, but you get the point :) I wouldn't use nitrous bungs to mount coils packs.. just drill a hole in the firewall and mount the coils there.

thanks, very clean.

I meant I was looking for a method of mounting the stock coil without getting in the way of a direct port nitrous shot. The Forrester intake casts the bungs on the top of the runners and the only location I could think of for mounting the coil packs.

Probably could mount them to the strout tower.

mirage, is that turbo supposed to be turned around like that? LOL

are you in the process of building that up as a new motor or is that after a teardown?

what brand plug wires are needed for them to be that long? I'm mounting mine on the firewall as well but I don't think my wires will reach the plugs then.

i'm running a bj's intake with nology wires and i had no problem mounting my coils on the fire wall! i just used one of the spare bolts by the brake fluid reservoir to mount mine! it works for me, although i would like to mount mine under the intake for a much cleaner look but the nology's aren't long enough!

Umm....It looks like your turbo is on backwards...I don't know why you would do this?

Big power = backwards :D

That's during the buildup. It's on 28lbs now, need more dyno time before it sees high boost. Oh, and on your FRH, make sure you teflon the hell outta those vacuum references on the back, and screw them in tight! Also, locktite the plenum to runners bolts, I've heard of them backing out in a few cases.

came with studs, but thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye on it.

It was actually mounted that way due to fitment restrictions.

1fast97: Those are MSD wires, you have to make the ends yourself.

I mounted mine in a different way and so far i love it.

it makes sense that mounting the turbo backwards would aid it; the output of the compressor wouldn't be so close to massive heat, and the the piping will have less distance to travel to enter the fmic

My stock coils locatation before I cleaned all the wires up on the car:

that is a good spot. I like the way your engine bay looks too. very clean.

That FP intake pipe is fricken huge!

Is anyone actualy running a direct port on there dsm yet? I have been looking to do it w/ my forrester aswell. BUT the kit I have seen the smallest shot is 120 (nos's 04431 which SAYS its 80-200). My brother got it for his gsr and anything under 120 was for carberated motor's. ANY fedback would be great.

You could probably make that turbo fit if u got a DNperformance exhaust mani. I had my 60-1 and a turbonetics manifold and that shit wasnt fitting at all! Bolt on my ass..I had to sell the manifold to get a DNP..I even shaved the compressor housing a bit and the block but still wouldnt fit..haha never thought of reversing it though...

I tried doing it that way, but it wasn't working for a few reasons. First, we were having trouble bending the 3.5in exhaust to avoid the alternator if it was positioned normally, and also avoiding the front motor mount. We finally did get it to fit in there, but it was extremely tight. Also, keep in mind I'm running a t04S cover.. not sure what you are. That's a 4in inlet, 2.5in outlet. By spinning it 180 deg, it just fit a hell of a lot better.
