code being thrown for a misfire on cyl 1

ok as the title says i scanded my car because the cel was on. it told me there were two codes being thrown. a p0301 and a p0301 pd. both are a misfire on cyl 1. well i checked for spark between wire and plug and it was great. so for shits and giggles i went down the line. cyl 2 was the same as cyl 1. but cyl 3 showed barely any spark and thats the same as cyl 4, and when pulled the car wanted to choke out. ran like shit and woiuldn't idle. please help, i miss driving my car

There could be a few reasons for misfire, you should check into your oxygen sensor, fuel injector, catalytic converter. I read up on this and it also could be faulty coil pack, burned exhaust valve, poor compression, or defective computer.

Does it miss all the time? If so try swapping plugs between two cylinders if there's no change move to swapping plugs, again if no change time to move to swapping fuel injectors if the miss is still on your number one cylinder time to look at a mechanical problem.

Then its compression test followed by a leak down test.

Iv replaced my msd coil and wires that i put on about 10,000 miles ago to the coil and plugs that were on it and working, just wanted to give the car a tune up. put in new plugs when it first started giving me the problem. the spark plug on cyl one has gas on the plug. im leaning to the wires that lead to the coil baving a bad spot since they pass the egr. preaviously i had an issue with a fuse blowing for the 30 amp motor fuse becase a wire was shorting on the egr syestem. but according to my neighbor he thinks its a bent valve.

im hoping its not. even with the fact that i have a motor in the machine shop being built for turbo and high boost levels, i still would like to save money and drive my car rather then my truck.

If the plug was wet I'd suspect injector stuck open. Pull your rail out and look at your injectors and see if fuel is leakingnout the end.

I doubt it's wiring to the coil as with non turbos they have 3 wires going to the coil and only 2 coils. One is asd I believe its green and orange that's the power the other 2, are grounds triggered by the ecu to fire the coil. If it were wiring you'd have two dead cylinders or it wouldn't run.

Well I just did a cold compression test. Pulled cyl 1 plug and went down the line from there. Here's my results 25, 110 ,107, 113. So something's defiantly not right on cyl 1 and I have to wait till my new motor is finished. Unless I spend 200 on a motor and put that in for the time being but I don't want two motors laying around when I'm done
