So, I keep getting a CEL code P1750. Any reasons for why?

I keep reseting it. I notice that it usually kicks on about 3 seconds after I start to decelerate after hitting moderate boost and midrange rpms.

Is there a delay between when the error trips the ECU and when the CEL gets tripped?

Here's a log, maybe it will help.

Even though I'm light on the gas, it kicked up this time. It turned on between 660 and 674 seconds.

If you want, tell me exactly what to log. I'll try to do a run when I get some time tomorrow.

The CEL keeps coming back after resetting it because the problem still exists.

P1750 = Solenoid Assembly Malfunction. The TCU is sending a fail signal to the ECU. Suspect the converter clutch, shift, or pressure control solenoids

After 2 hours of searching online, I've found this...

I found 2 Solenoid Kits if anyone else has this problem in the future.

Solenoid Kit w/ 13 Ohm Damper Clutch Solenoid (late) - $225.00
IPT Performance Transmissions Torque Converters and Transmission Parts for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Import vehicles

or

# 42420EK
Solenoid assembly, KM / F4series, 12 - 13 OHM Lock-UP, 1993-UP - $154.61
Solenoid assembly, KM / F4series, 12 - 13 OHM Lock-UP, 1993-UP: Bulkpart transmission parts
^They also sell the solenoids seperate.

It seems it isn't included in rebuild kits :(

I also found this to test the TCU codes.

I'll try to read it tomorrow and get back to you guys. It seems that I might be able to figure out exactly which solenoid went bad. $40 for the individual solenoid from the 2nd link wouldn't be too bad.

hi, I thought rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd bump a old relevent thread to ask my question.

I think I'm having the same proble with my overdrive shift solenoid, so I'm looking into replacing it.

but before I replace it I need to know where the shift solenoids are in the engine. I'm not familiar with these engines so I have no idea.

btw I have a 98 eclipse spyder with a 4g64 engine in it so it may be a bit different. but a general idea of what I should be looking for would be great.

Thanks

Pics would be ieven better..

They're on the valve body.

thanks,

but now a few more stupid questions.

where is the valve body.. I've been searching for a picture or discription and I can't seem to find it.

anddo the make seperate solinoids for each gear? cause mine will shift from o/d to 3rd irraticly, and when I turn o/d off the car runs perfectly.

I got a quote from the dealership for a solenoid for $94 cdn. does that sound right?

Thanks again for the help

You'll see the valve body and solenoids when you remove the transmission pan.

I'm unsure of the costs, having never bought one before. Sorry.
