I have viewed a few of these cheap brake setup threads that deal with 3000GT VR4 calipers/rotors or 3000GT VR4/Cobra rotor setups. One of the issues not really addressed is the fact the Cobra rotors have to have a centering ring to position the rotor for the caliper. When working on my setup I noticed that the Cobra rotor wheel stud hole was much larger than the DSM stud. I know several people have installed the rotors using just the standard centering ring but the engineer side of me felt there was another way. When stopping the car all the force is transferred to the rotor which is mechanically held by the wheel studs. When the stud is smaller than the hole all the force is concentrated on one point of the stud. To solve this problem I decided to make a centering for each stud.

First, I turned down 2 sets of old lugnuts to 0.600" and then cut them off at 6.5mm, the thickness of the rotor.

Next I cleaned the threads on the stud near the hub, put on some anti-sieze and installed the spacers.

Actually speaking of RTM racing, would your sleeves work with the rotors they sell (13inch) for Baer/Cobra brakes? I've been putting buying rotors off for a while because I want to buy the hubcentric ring with the rotors and a couple more things so have been saving up, but I'd be interested in knowing if these would work with the rotors they sell.

They use Cobra rotors so yes they will work. Now keep in mind my sleeves do not replace hub centric adapters, they simply take up the space between the rotor and the stud. You always want to center your rotor to the hub center.

Yup, I know that. I was just wondering for the extra stability of the rotor. I'll be ordering my rotors soon enough (fingers crossed) so once I fit them if they have slack in the bolt region I'll hit you up for set. Thanks!

Interested in feedback on performance. Also what brand of rotors did you get? Im having trouble deciding which type to get.

I have the Baer kit(which are re-branded Cobra parts) and it has been a very good investment, lots of stopping power.
