clutch partially depressed ....

hey guys ... just bought another talon ....... it has a centreforce DF clutch that is acting up ....... as it sits, it is about 50% depressed (lower than other pedals) ... engagement is perfect, however it slips like hell on disengagement ...

just to make sure i had the right terminology in my afforementioned description ...... when i let off the clutch the rpm's rise but the car isnt going any faster ...... what should i do?

To start off centerforce clutches are pretty crappy however the problem your having is not really because the clutch is generally crappy but something else is wrong.

Your saying it's partially depressed but you can shift and it's slipping like hell. THat indicates a problem in the hydralic system or a direct problem with the clutch to me. (Or it has crazy crankwalk which I doubt)

Try adjusting the release point of the clutch to see if it changes. If it will not change when adjusting then see if your low on fluid. If it's low you could be leaking. Also while pushing the clutch have somebody watch under the hood and see if your losing fluid or some other problem is happening.

Thats about all I can think of off the top of my head.

This is what happened to me when my master cylinder went out, it was half to the floor, a couple months later it just dropped to the floor and I'd have to lift the pedal manually to do anything.

ya that could be it ..... ill have it checked out at Magnus ..... hopefully i wont have to replace the clutch just let ....
