clutch install cost

so ive been callin around town and for a clutch install theyre asking 5-700 dollars.....is that accurate? Also is an AWD clutch install more expensive than a FWD(like mine) and which one takes more time? and how much time for each?

yeah thats about right its easy enough to do your self and yes awd is usaully more expensive

Last time I looked at a Labor Guide for clutch r&r, I wanna say it said 5.5 for the FWD, and 7.0 for the AWD. Got some hand tools?

Ya, if you know what your doing and you know all about these cars, I have to do the same thing with my AWD, and I wouldnt recommend doing it yourself unless you know you stuff, and have all the tools of course.

I really dont know why an AWD would cost more for a clutch job, it takes a whole 5 minutes to take the transfer case off.

They probably just say that "officially" so they can get more $$$ out of you for labor.

I pull the driveshaft and the full exhaust, its the correct way by the book.

I have seen a clutch done in 2 hours before though.

i had my mechanic install my clutch,fuel filter, and symborski shift kit for $250..

A shop manual is also a very good idea to pick up if you dont already have one.

Read through some of that stuff and if you have any questions at all, post them. It is really not that hard at all if you have a jack, jackstands, and some tools. I will do my best to help you out.
