clutch fork pivot ball

i am installing a 2600, new oem clutch fork, and pivot ball. i was wondering if i should shim the pivot ball even though it is new.

You won't really know if you will need to, until you get the transmission in place. Then you can check the shift fork position, and determine whether you are okay, or you need to take it off and shim it.

I shimmed with 1 washer and I'm happy with the clutch engagement. It used to engage almost right off the floor but now I have a couple inches.

I also shimmed one washer.

I also used the taboo speed shop clutch fork and their extended slave rod. And my engagement is good.

EDIT: Its also a good idea to change the Throw out bearing with a new OEM one.
