I just installed a new clutch and after finding out that i could not get it to disengage I started eliminating possiblities until I decided that it must be that i didn't get the flywheel turned, but now im not so sure.
After removing the clutch from the flywheel it is apparent that the clutch disk was making some contact with the pressure plate. Before you say it's supposed to let me explain. It seems that the springs on the clutch disc which are the highest point of the clutch disc were making contact with the pressure plate fingers.
Now i dont know a lot about clutches but im pretty sure that this is not supposed to happen. BTW the flywheel was stepped at .610 before i got it machined. I got it touched up just for the heck of it. Has anyone ever come into this problem before?

i did install it correctly. At first i thought maybe I hadn't and that the raised portion was supposed to go toward the flywheel and thats why it was making contact with the clutch fingers. But then i tried for the hell of it and if you actually try to put the disc on backwards it doesn't fit.
