Hey guys. Just did an xtd stage 1 clutch in my car. Still have a couple odds n ends left before she hits the road. My question is: I know I have a 500 mile break in, does that entail anything special besides just being easy on it? Just want to be sure I do this right. Thanks guys
 
I was wondering about the quality of those clutches. Could you give me your opinion on the one that you bought? What does the pedal feel like, what all came in the kit, does it engage quickly and hold, and overall craftsmanship of it, etc.?

Yes, there is a 500mi break in for it, it should be done in city so that you disengage and engage the clutch a lot along with no hard launches or WOT runs.
 
The one I got I got off eBay new for 180.00. I've only put 30 miles on it so far but I'm happy with it. It came with the modular clutch and a new throw out bearing. Alot have said not to use anything other than OEM throw out on them but that's what went bad on my car, I just decided to do the whole clutch since I had it apart. Engages real well feels pretty good overall. Haven't gotten to really lay into it but I'm getting anchor to do so. I'm happy with the purchase though. Hope I gave ya what ya wanted to know.
 
Pretty much. I researched both before buying the xtd and they seem to be the same with the exception the xtd claims to be able to handle just a little more power than the f1. I just have bolt ons so either would be plenty for me right now.
 
I always did 500 mi city driving and never had issues with it. Freeway miles don't really count.
 
Always best to ask the manufacturer for length of break in as different friction materials require different amount of break in. Typically you just want to take it easy on the car (no boost if turbo), don't rev the car out (keep shifts under 3K) & do lots of shifts (ie stop & go/city driving). Jumping on the highway & going for 500 miles will not break in a clutch.
