Clutch Adjustment

I just got a 1992 elcipse gs non turbo. i am having trouble shifting into 2nd gear because of the horrible grinding noise it makes . I have read about the syncros and all that but i have hurd all i need to do is adjust the clutch. How do I do this? it seems when i push down on the clutch as hard as i can it shifts just fine.

if a n/t has the same clutch setup as a turbo then:

youll need a flashlight, pliers, and a adjustable wrench.


- just pull the drivers seat as far back as possible so you can get under there. it is very tight under there.
- The clutch asdjustment rod is behind that big spring, if you cannot find it just push the clutch in so you can see the mechanism moving( make sure you put the hand brake up, and put blocks in the wheels for safety.

-there is a bolt on the rod, loosen that up. now turn the rod out (clockwise) just 1/4 turn.

-tighten the bolt and test drive.
