2G Clutch Adjustment Help

Hey guys my clutch on my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder is pretty annoying as the play is like an inch if less and I have to put the clutch to the floor to shift gears. I am under the impression that I am able to Increase/Decrease the range of play in the clutch with a tensioner cable of some sort I’m not too sure and I haven’t found much.

Does anyone know about this?

Could I get some help instructions if so, any feedback is appreciated thank you.

It's a hydraulic clutch system so no cable to adjust. The only adjustment is between the clevis on the pedal assembly and the clutch master cylinder push rod (under the dash). The push rod threads into the clevis, so undo the lock nut and twist the master cylinder push rod clockwise to make the push rod longer.

I've always been a bit confused by this. I've always heard it said to do this, but every time someone has the clutch pedal to the floor, I cannot push the fork in at all. Are you supposed to be able to push the fork in with the clutch fully depressed?

"Step Two: Next have person pump clutch, hold down pedal, open bleed screw, and then most importantly, SQUEEZE SLAVE CYLINDER SHUT! THEN with pedal down and slave cylinder compressed, close bleeder. This pushes the air out of the cylinder itself which is past the bleed screw. Without this step, the air will just sit in the cylinder no matter how many times you do step one."

The key point is, you are squeezing the slave cylinder shut WHILE the slave bleed screw is open. Then immediately close the slave bleed screw. This is all while the pedal is held on the floor. This is the only way of pushing the air out of the cylinder itself which can prevent the clutch from disengaging completely or make it be spongy.
