ok this might be a dumb idea but it is what it is. I have a real big pet pev, i hate when people put extra gauges in their car that they allready have. For example if you have a perfectly functionable volt meter or oil gauge or temp gauge and you put after market ones in cause you thinks its cool to have ten gauges in your car. Now to get back on track, I had to put a boost gauge in cause of the fact im running more boost. so what i was wondering is can i swap in a 420a cluster since it doesnt have a boost gauge, and yes im aware that there isnt a volt meeter so i know im going to have to put a one some where but thats ok my doesnt work anyway. Its not a really big deal i was just wondering if it could be done. i dont have a 420a cluster yet so i dont know what it looks like on the back so i cant compare. thanks for the help

what did you buy the aftermarket boost gauge for? i tuned my car to 20psi using the stocker boost gauge. ROFL JUST KIDDING. your right its worthless and if it bugs you because you've got another one then go get those N/A gauges, they are the same difference. personally if i did the N/A gauge swap id look for the '99 10yr anniversary edition GS silver face gauges... :sneaky: fancy.

you should post a pic of the stock voltmeter gauge... :heystupid:

looked for the 10yr gauge but cant find one. would like some other input guys
i know you want others input but i im 100% sure it works and heres why.
I own a 97 GSX and a 97 GS and swapped in the '99 GSX gauges because i wanted silver ones. I took my original 97 GSX gauges with 86,000 miles on the clock and installed them in my 97 GS with 170,000 miles on the clock and everything works with the exception to oil pressure and boost.

the only cluster ill replace with my stocker with, is the uber-rare 0-180 km/h EURO/JDM cluster..

not the canadian one because they use the 260 km/h

i gotta agree. the previous owners of my car disconnected the stock tachometer and installed a cheap aftermarket one on the dash. I tore that one out and jumped the noise reducer terminal so I now use the stock tach. 2 boost guages don't bother me. Probably because the stock boost guage is supposed to be based on something other than boost pressure. 2 oil pressure, or 2 of pretty much anything else definitely bothers me too.

i ripped the needles out. I would switch but now that the oil/boost is gone, i can lazily look over at both the gas and temp. at the same time. Plus if i were to sell it, they would ask me why my title says 60k but my cluster says 170,000..
