clunking/tappin noise only in rain

don't know what to think. every time it rains i start getting this tapping/grinding sound right by my clutch pedal. sounds like tapping a wrench on something metal. even at idle in neutral it still does it. doesn't matter if i put the clutch in or not. i was thinking a belt but i double checked those and it's not that. any idea's.

check your axel boots they could be ripped

it's gotta be something along the belt line. i don't think the axel boots would make noise if the car was no moving would they.
