clunking noise from suspension

I have a 95awd and the suspension is stock and still original. The car makes alot clunking noise when I hit a bump. Both front and rear make the noise. I think the shocks are bad but some people told me its the tie rods Is that what it is and where to get the good stuff. Thanks

Possibly suspension related, or in my case it was ball joint related.

if you are having thta problem in front and back then I would start by looking at sway links and stab bar first those are more prone to giving out at the same time and is a more common prob

also i was just reading what kinda car you have and if I am correct a tsi is awd correct if so have you checked the carrier bearing and or u joints in the drive shaft
