Okay once again I fix something and something else breaks. LOL
Anyway to get to the point, Occasionally, well really kinda often I feel a pretty bad clunk coming from the rear, it's also pretty loud sounding. Kinda like running something over but not really??? Sooo confusing, seems like only the back right does it though, it is a 1990 talon AWD with the LSD in the rear end. Any help or guesses even would help a TON!! thanks in advance...

It's kinda late and I'm tired so I'm gonna ask what a bump stop is? sorry LOL
Well it doesn't really do it under hard acceleration since I haven't really hammered it because I'm babying the tranny i just fixed. It did it really out of no where, didn't seem to hurt anything but it's enough to make you go WTF??? LOL
It did it once right after I slowed down and started to turn, not sure if that really had anything to do with it since it seems like from the rear...

I have a similar problem. My car is a 2g gst with totally stock suspension. I have the clunking noise but it seems only be when I am braking at low speed, like when driving in a parking lot or slowing to turn. I replaced the brakes about 4 months ago so I know it is not the pads grinding. When i get my next day off work I am going to check the wheel bearing.

I had something similiar to this but only during engine breaking (decel), replaced the fluid to redline shockproof this weekend and noise is gone. Something to try that will be good for the rear diff anyway.

I've had this problem with two 2g GSX so far in my life...im not to sure what the exhaust routing is on a 1g but my problem was when i downshifted or turned or let off the gas at high rpms my 3" exhaust would hit my driveshaft and make a loud sound...the first time i heard it i thought it was my rear diff...but it was this...let me know if it helps.
