I just picked myself up a 98 GSX a few weeks ago and when I bought the car there was an odd clunking noise. The guy who I bought it from said his shop told him that it was the tokiko struts for some reason. The clunking happens when I give it gas or let off the gas real hard. I took it to the local Midas and they said the struts were bad but that's not what would be making the noise. They said it was the drive shaft support (carrier) bearings. I got under the car and the drive shaft does has some play in it. I was just wondering if anyone else had any other suggestions before I either have a shop replace the bearings or attempt to do it myself with a buddy who is pretty knowledgeable about DSM's. Any info would be great. Thanks.
