Well... I started this brand new fresh 6-bolt up, and
it seems to be running pretty strong. The only
hangups that i've encountered and need help with are:

1) A high idle. The engine seems to start off at
1000rpms, but as soon as you hit the gas or let it
warm up, it idles at 1500-2000RPMs. Any idea what
might be causing this? I've got a fidanza flywheel,
but doubt that it should be affecting the idle like
that....

2) 2 solenoids directly behind the intake manifold on
the firewall (not the fuel pressure selonoid) are
making these constant clicking noises. Any idea about
those? Has anybody had similar problems? I've never
heard these things ever click before the swap... so I just
want to know what's going on.

Any insight into these problems would be greatly
appreciated. To be honest, I'm just thankful the damn
thing started up.... but I'd like to get these little
quirks taken care of early on. Thanks again!

Well for number 1 it could be your isc. Did you run coolant to tb or did you bypass that?? When I bypassed mine, that was what I was experiencing. For number 2 the two solenoids that you are talking about are the (driver side) evaporative emission purge solenoid valve and the other one (passenger side) is your egr solenoid valve. Good luck

I ran coolant to the TB, so I don't think that's it.

Yeah... those are the solenoids (evaporative emission purge & egr solenoid valve)... but why are they clicking like that? It wasn't run in a LONG time, but would that be causing it?

Figured out what was going on. It just hit me last
night that the TB that I had gotten when I was doing
the swap, had no BISS screw, so I had to take the one
from my 2g TB, and put it on the 1g TB. Magically, as
soon as the idle was adjusted down to it's normal
speed (750rpms), the clicking stopped! Killed 2 birds
w/one stone.
