Clicking "Order" for new tires.

I am about to click the order button, but I am torn between 2 sizes.

I still haven't decided on the Exclaim UHPs or Kumho SPTs, but that isn't what is in question here.

225/45/17 or 214/45/17 for the stock GSX 17x6.5" wheel.

I am currently leaning towards the 215 tires b/c they are cheaper for one, and I don't think it will make a big difference in traction compared to 225. Also, the 215s will be better suited to the 6.5" rim, don't ya think?

I think 225's would just bulge too much on your wheels. I actually decided to go 215's on my 17x7" wheels (kumho SPT) and I think it's a perfect fit. I get very responsive and predictable handling out of them. I could have done 225's, but I'm not sure I'd see an improvement in handling. Possibly better drag racing grip, but I'm not interested in that.

With your wheels being an entire 1/2" narrower than mine, my opinion would be don't go any wider than 215.

They should be here today or tomorrow. MY car still has the factory rubber on it. I'm so excited to get some nice tires on there.

I went with General UHC Exclaims in 215/45/17

Tire rack compared these with some SPTs and AVS100s and these performed on par with better treadlife and a cheaper price tag. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

I plan to buy a set of SPTs eventually to do my own comparison. The SPTs are said to last around 30,000 and the UHCs are said to last around 40,000-50,000
