Hey, thanks guys!
I checked and the local Napa can get them for me, $55.49 for mains and $7.99 a piece for the cons.

Does anyone here know what the Clevite 77 Part numbers are for 6bolt Mains and 6bolt Rod bearings? Both in std size. I have search everywhere and come up with nothing.

i can get you the part nummbers on monday when i go back to work. ive got to go thru the book neway for some new rood bearings for my self.

i had to run down to the shop to get some assembly lube so i got the p/ns for you

rods 6 bolt cb1120p
mains 6 bolt ms2076p
rods 7 bolt cb1643p
mains 7 bolt ms2039
balance shaft sh1469s

6 bolt to 3/92
7 bolt from 4/92

WOW thats great!

I really appreciate it... This is my first DSM :talon: and I bought it needing a rebuild. I'll take it on as a challange. I sure hope to learn a lot with this.

I stopped all my work so i can run in the house and get this question answered. The clevite 77 thrust bearings i got from slowboy racing DO NOT have the oil galley (passages/groves) cut into the as the O.E.M. ones do. Everybody else in the DSM world uses them and I have never found anybody else questioning this. Do I stick with the Clevite's or should I order up a set of O.E.M. thrust bearings?

I am starting to assemble my motor and was wondering what bearings to use.
Clevite or mitsu?? Anyone think one is better than the other??

I am torn between clevite and ACL...

Honestly I think the cats meow are ACL's purchased from calico with their coating on them.

Get the crank micro polished then run these.. Calico

I have clevites. They are nice, affordable and available...

I have heard good things about the ACL's and the calico coatings..

ACL's have more consistent and tighter tolerances. I heard this from a shop that has used both.

My next engine just might be sporting them.

Hey MNGSX...
In doing a search on that Calico site, I was unable to find the ACL's available for either 1G's or 2G's. Where can you get them?
Aloha

Clevites tend to be thinner than mitsus, I've never used ACL. I had to resize one set of in spec crowers, because the clevites were so much thinner.

David Buschur likes Mitsu bearings. He has a little experience. Mark

I'd ask around some of the other shops..

Alot of them who have assembled engines with OE, Clevite and ACL say the ACL's were the most accurate and consistent..

Go to ACL bearings homepage...

Also call or email calico...

If ACL, Clevite or Federal has a part # for a bearing for any engine they can send you some coated ones..

Their site needs some work.. They probably have them ready to go on the shelf for the 6 bolt.

Federal Mogul. I run them and have had no problems. I have heard a few stories of Clevites having the oil hole a little off before.

AMS runs Federal Moguls on their stuff and has put down 700+ wheel horsepower as well as a bunch of 400+ horsepower daily drivers.

I've had no issues with the clevites I put in my motor yet, I think the mitsu's would be the better option between clevite and mitsu, but my decision was made based on price mainly.

Ive built many engines, and I have never really had any issues with any brand bearings I've used. Its all about proper machining and checking clearances. Ive used, Fed Mog, ACL, Clevite, and Mitsu.

I have friends who run calico coated bearings in V8 race engines...

Tried them in a 4G63 yet?

Nice of you to drop in and give us your expert opinion.

I run clevites, no spun bearings :) It's all about the machining and checking tolerances.
