ive been doing som reasearch on this the past few days, and just wanted to make sure im understanding everything right...you get a gm maf and maft, get the uicp (w/ new bov) that fits the gm maf and then youll be able to vent to the atm and also controll your air/fuel ratio? the only thing im not too sure about is...i have a injen intake that rec the air back from the stock bov...would i be able to use this? only reason im not sure is because i see most ppl running dejon tool intake pipes..someone please help clear my views up!! :sosad:

You can still use your intake. You can recirculate the bov if you want or you can vent it to the atmosphere and block off the recirculation line.

so the maft has a plain "Blow through" setting???... is it that easy to set up? i am tuning illiterate but venting is something id like to get done..

Very easy, if your on stock injectors. I have heard that some of the larger injectors are more difficult to setup with only the MAFT.

I had never done any tuning before and this was my first MOD for tuning and I had no issues. :thumb:

blowthrough is talking about the physical set up, like if you set all your books on a shelf in a pattern, like green book, red book, green book, red book...., you could call it christmas set up, its all depending on where you PUT the maf, not what the settings are on the maft.... if you did research, i would hope that that included finding out what exactly each part does, and what its replacing.... the gm maf is the part that senses and tells the engine how much air is going into the engine, and the maft is the part that translates the data from the gm language to the mitsubishi language so that your ecu knows what the #### its being told, its like if you talked to me in german, i wouldnt know what your saying, but if you had a translator tell me what your saying, i would..... anyways, if you "vent" your bov, and your maf is before your bov, your maf is telling the translator that x amount of air is entering the engine and it should add x amount of fuel....BUT guess what the bov is doing? its getting rid of some of that air... so you have more fuel than your car actually needs... so you have a rich air fuel ratio, so your o2 sensor tells your ecu that the air fuel ratio is wrong, so the car tries to lean it out... so your car goes insane and kills itself because the two arent telling it the same thing.... now if you have the maf AFTER the bov, it doesnt matter how much air the bov dumps off, because the maf hasnt counted it yet... so as long as your intake air goes by your bov before it goes by your maf, you can vent....

theres all the research you should need, at least for venting, for tuning, look at the instructions that come with the maft....because i havent gotten my maft yet....so i dont know how to work it yet....
