Here is the deal... this is my first DSM ever, it is a 94 Talon TSI AWD. I have owned an Evo 8 before this and many other cars such as BMW M3's and what not. I knew alot about those cars but this is a totally different car and I want to make sure I choose the right path. S

I currently have a Pocket Logger System in the car... This is a great data logging tool from what I have heard but now I need to ask a few other questions...

First of all can I actually "tune" my car and change the settings with the pocket logger or not?

Should I go with an ECU upgrade (chip) for my car and if so what brand is a reputable brand for DSM's? Or instead of going with a chip upgrade should I go with standalone engine management? What is a good standalone sysetm? Then we bring into play all of these Apexi SAFCII's and AVC-R's which I know are just boost controllers and fuel controllers but would those be a complete waste of money if I were to instead buy something like standalone engine management? Also can you chip your ECU and have a standalone system or not?

I am just a little lost as which path to take so any help would be appreciated :)

if you have an eprom ecu you can get dsmlink. its is a semi stand alone and datalogger all in one and its really easy to use. check them out @ www.dsmlink.com

How do I find out if I have an EProm ECU? What do you guys think about the AEM EMS. I know it is around $1500 but from what I have read it really looks awesome and since I have the money I was considering going that route...

As long as you can tune it or have someone that knows how to tune them very close to you, then go for it. All though, you should probably spend a "few" grand on mods first.... The factory ecus can take care of you for a while. I would get an eprom ecu and go DSMLink also.
