Ivan's GTR is not a drag car, and Devin & crew were having a damn good time. They will most definitely be back, so will the other vendors, the "rich guys" as well as a lot of the more common cars that were kicking ass.

The only true drag car that showed up was the Turbo T/A and if you'll notice he didn't fare so well.. I'm guessing too short rear gear and not able to grab on the concrete.

What's wrong with an airport wanting to make money for hosting the event? Suspending flight ops for a weekend doesn't come cheap and it provides us with a place to race that's not a public street or highway and doesn't require going through a sanctioning body like NHRA or ECTA who would not have let any of the cars there run 200mph as equipped.

If you are that cynical, keep in mind no one is forcing you to go.

You evidently didn't look down if you had you would have seen the clown shoes I said nothing was wrong with it and I will be at the Atlanta 1/2 mile event in sept. Don't get me wrong I am all for it! take those shoes off and reread my post.

You made a few assertions, stated them as fact. These were false.

The GTR that ran 214 was not a drag car, that was Ivan's AMS Alpha Omega.

These were predominately street cars and weekend toys trapping 180+

Then you went off to state that these folks aren't coming back, again based on nothing. Which really is par for the course with you. You posit your opinions as fact much like that Boostdriven guy does, and hold them unassailable. It really looks very childish.

Hopefully when you go, you'll have found a way to keep a motor together this time. From one high power FWD to another, you should also be looking at putting money aside for a new trans if you plan to go to one of these and run ~500wtq through a F5M33 box for a 4th and 5th gear pull upwards of half dozen times or more in one day. You will eventually shear the teeth off.

Wow guys I think you guys have Kels all wrong. I speak to Kels quite frequently on the phone and I think there are a lot of unfair.assumptions being made here about him and what he knows concerning the 4G63 motor and his feelings about the airpiort 1/2 mile runs..A lot of what he is saying I took as tongue in cheek because we are looking forward to run in one of these. Never once has he mentioned anything negative to me about the 1/2 mile runs and anytime I needed help or advice he never came off as some pompous clown that I feel he is unfairly being portrayed as. Anytime I needed help with certain issues Kels has made himself available,helped me out quite a bit. But make a note Big lady and landspeed dsm ,I have learned alot of good stuff over years from you guys and (Alex)boostdriven as well. I'm just surprised at the negative responses towards Kels. I mean come on guys! I think the board only benefits from all you guys and I take a little from each one of you.

It should also be noted that all three of you guys have the same marks as having good reputations and have over 500 posts. So I think that also speaks volumes.

Carl much appreciated but you should know me by now I don't give two pennies about what big lady thinks he has followed me from board to board and has been exactly what his name says. As far as land speed I have never had a problem with him and just like you said he misunderstood what i was saying and thats all good and can be corrected with no problem. As far as big lady is concerned he will never like me because I will never kiss his rear on these boards or any other board and he has major problems with that

Additionally he has been a tremendous resource for my self and others interested in keeping these cars alive under real power for several minutes of WOT through inhospitable conditions for both man and machine. Not just a few pulls on a dyno or some 10sec bursts.

I'm willing to consider there could be some misinterpretationon my psrt of kelvins words but I've been left this impression by other exchanges. Perhaps time will prove my judgment hasty. "For when a wise man confronted with new information that conflicts with his hypothesis changes his theory" ...
