I saw on facebook a yellow evo ran almost 175 mph all prepped by Buschur! Nice! I think aLot more mitsus
will show up the next one.

Spoolin do you think if the bracket did not snap your car would have been capable of going 170+ or more? Im really curious to know how fast our 5 Spds can allow us to go.

It all depends on if you have the power, tire and enough rpm ... even short ratio AWDs on 24.5" tires can turn 200+ mph if you can wind out far enough

I agree and there is no doubt then that a few of us I see here will be able to accomplish this then. I wonder how stable does the car feel at those speeds and what are you guys using to hold down your hoods? I've only driven my AMG at those stellar speeds and at 155+ you better have both hands holding that steering wheel eyes glued to the road,quick glances at speedo.

It would have been nice to see your beast run as well with that hx52. When are you guys gonna start posting some vids and pics?

I think spooling dubb was only running 28psi 154mph at that boost level is insane because his turbo starts to get really happy around 40psi not to mention his redline is around 9500 or so his setup will certainly support enough power for 170+mph!

I have a bunch of pics up on the Link forum, that I'll transfer over here tonight probably. I'm still importing/converting/editing the go-pro footage.

Didn't get as much as I wanted because I was in the tech lanes for most of the day with my Fit.. which made for a lot of fun conversations.

I thought I was going to be the slowest person there, being its a NA 1.5L. That title actually went to an autotragic V6 mustang.

Agreed, but picking up 16+ mph at that level is not going to come easy. Certainly not impossible though.

The first guy I "ran" was a stroked M6 that put down ~550rwhp on a DynoDynamics trapped ~153 and that car is almost as aerodynamic as a 1G (bigger cross section though)

There were only a few 4G63 vehicles there but they were punching way above their weight.. so were the Hondas! 2 bad ass S2ks and an awesome ~540whp 4 door Civic that reeled in and almost beat a 1st Gen Murcielago

I think a Golf R32 did beat the green Murci

that yellow car was trailed in by Buschur. I Hit 157 on june 2nd but couldnt judge if I could rev 4th all the way out past the speed cones. I couldnt . I hit rev limiter then shifted to 5th and then thru the trap cones in early 5th. I would probably went 161 or 162 if it wasnt for that. As far as 5 speed I run a tre stage 4 so depending on how I shift I shouldn't have any issues with power.

I have to say this was one of the best events i have ever been to!! like a mini dsm shootout. Shep was there, Buscher, AMS, Reichen, yusuf and so on and so on. being in line I didnt get to see the races but there was not one person I spoke to or heard about that didn't enjoy themselves. Shocked everyone! There was some bad as shit out there running!! There are people already planning new setups for this event next year...and UGR told me they may be there next year!! I just hate it rained at night and we couldnt hit the streets .

I'm glad there was no after hours.. the sheriffs would have shut that shit down in a hurry and we probably would not be welcomed back. We have a track to do that stuff on, why push it? They had one cop waiting for people on the way in Saturday morning hiding right behind a crest on Kedzie.

I'm glad I didn't let the guys in the TT that were tailgating me push me into a massive ticket before things even kicked off

Yeah the supra's don't like my attitude. They think they better then us. The only supra I know of that I would have any concern with would be sharkey but he cool as hell. The rest are mostly ass holes. They better be happy i was only on wastgate spring .

Devin did not run 219 . AMS went the fastest with 214.

Low 50s. This is the car the made 936 @ 46psi falling to 44 on a 67mm turbo.

Nicely done! Yea, I've experienced that too... the Supra people think they are above everyone else, (for the most part.)

As of now it's only an annual event per city but popularity is growing people seem to like this better than the 1/4 mile because it's catered to street the driver , yeah a couple of drag cars was able to enter and was able to run 204 or 213 mph but they beat the heck out of their expensive high dollar engines and is thinking twice about doing it again! This event really started out with a couple of rich guys , who own expensive cars and at the same time own private planes , was drinking scotch one day and hanging out and got into some type of discussion about my porche is faster than your Ferrari and decided under the influence to take their expensive cars out to a friends airport and see who was right and how accurate road and track magazine was on the performance of their cars.

At the same time some intern was there who wanted to make a name for himself got this Brite idea to market the idea and after a few city sell outs trust me this new type of racing will get bigger and more frequently.

Rules will be fined tuned for liability and safety and it's going to be the new blast as more airport owners will be checking with insurance company to see what's needed for them to participate for the money is pretty decent for a weekend hustle of 40, 000.00 This is good for us race guys which I think is cool!!
