I've had way too may problems with timing belts. I've already replaced this twice but now my nice Gates belt is showing wear. I thought it was wearing on my cover but apparently that wasn't it. What could be doing this to my pretty Gates belt?
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ffnUp0mru-sbkt86R8r60RPwIgb-zr4Oc-zxpffusGA?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_HAhukzyL8j0/Tbm05mnifLI/AAAAAAAAAOg/VaAjuT3UhhQ/s400/IMAG0044.jpg" height="239" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right"></td></tr></table>

There is a bolt that goes from the oil pan to the front housing that is shorter then the rest. I believe it is the center one, if you use the longer oil pan bolt it will stick out and tear up the timing belt. I would double check that.

I've dealt with this before, I am pretty sure but I will triple check the bolts but I'm pretty sure they have been ground down. Any other ideas of what can cut that straight line?

If the bolts are ground off smooth, check the idler and tensioner pulley for burrs. Only other thing I can think of.

That link I sent you includes damn near every incidence where someone had their timing belt getting gouge, cut, or rub marks on it. I hope you read that entire link from the first to last page, there are even links to other websites where DSM'rs had similar symptoms.

The oil pan bolts being too long is the case 75% of the time, it can also be caused by bent pulley bolts, t-belt plastic covers being broke, debris stuck in the bottom of the lower t-belt case, etc. Just read through EVERY case thats been merged into that thread and I'm almost certain you'll find the culprit.

After some time, I was able to look at the timing belt. I found out that it is rubbing on the tensioner pulley lip in the back. The tensioner pulley is brand new within 3k miles.

What could be causing this? I need urgent help, must make the shootout tomorrow!!
