Sup guys, here are some pics of my HX40 after last nights dyno session.

I'm questioning whether or not I want to spend the money to get it rebuilt, if it in fact can be.

But if I do, how will I know that the center cartridge is still good? Do I just want to make sure that none of the pieces scored it up?

I figure if the center section is good, I'll need these things:

Turbine wheel and shaft (is this one legit?)
Holset Turbine Wheel Shaft H1E HX40 HX40W Ind 76 00mm EXD 64 00mm | eBay

Rebuild kit

And of course some sort of compressor wheel. Batmowheel? BAE 62mm with their cover? Re-use mine? I haven't taken the compressor wheel out yet, but from what I can see by looking into it, it looks surprisingly unscathed.

Oddly enough, of all the broken HX40 turbines I've ever seen among DSM users- every single one was inside the .55 bolt-on housing. :hmm:

Smaller housing, larger turbine wheel, excessive heat, sounds like a bad recipe

The smaller turbine housing is prone to higher temps, that's my train of thought.
