I got a ball bearing GT35R from my friend. He had it sitting on the shelf in his garage for a year and a half brand new with out a bag or anything on it. I want to install it this weekend on my car, but do you think I shoudl clean it out first? I am not sure how much dust could have gotten in it and I would rather be safe than sorry. What method do you think would be best for cleaning? Should I just blow the intake and exhaust side with an air compressor? I searched and could only find threads about cleanign the outsid of the turbo.
Thanks

An air compressor would spin the blades really fast which would be a bad idea without any Oil in the turbo...

I would just blow in it and make sure it's not full of dust or anything.

Reach in & hold the blades with your fingers so they don't spin while you spray air into it.

Although once you install it, it'll have all the air it needs going through it to clean out the dust...

should I put a little bit of oil in it or anything? I was thinking about putting a little bit of oil in it and spinning the blades while doing it. I will blow it out holding the wheel though. What would you do if it was your turbo?
Thanks
