Hello, I have a question that is probably going to be to nebulous to really ask on a forum, but I thought I'd give it a shot!

My car recently decided to start making a horrible noise any time I quickly rev the engine. I only notice the noise when reving quickly. If I just slowly pick up the RPMs, it isn't audible. It makes what I can only describe as a 'smacking' noise which I THINK sounds like it's coming from around the turbo.

I don't see smoke coming out of the exhaust, but I do see little puffs coming from around the turbo itself.

I threw some seafoam into the crank case to see if that might help on some off chance, but I didn't see (or hear) any difference. I made a quick youtube recording, unfortunately the 'smacking' noise is a bit hard to hear over the engine noise in the video:

Could something like the waste gate having gone out and is just smacking around in there?

The car is a 1997 GSX. Basically stock, although it does have an after market BOV, intake and exhaust (the exhaust is just a cat back, so I can't imagine that would change anything). I haven't done anything to the car recently to change it's behavior.

Any suggests would be most welcome! Thanks for the help!
