Ok The CEL light has come on since i took of hte throttle body. Most people are going to tell me to pull the code but i can remeber exactly what i did and dont have the cash to pull it right now. So heres the deal:

I pulled the throttle body off to reposition the ISC. I moved it to my best guess to get rid of a annoying idle surge that would not allow me to time my engine properly and just plain bugged me. So i hook it all back up and runs good no idle surge, engine is timed right. Everything is in its right place to my best knowledge.

So the light comes on when u start it then goes away withing 5 seconds or maybe a little more. But thats not the light i am to worried about. It comes back on after i drive it for a quater mile or so, or after it has sat for about 4 - 6 minutes.

My Question.

Would the ISC tell the CEL light to turn on if it wasn't in the right position? Is it possible vacumn lines could cause the light to turn on if not hooked up right? Basically what part of the throttle body would tell the light to turn on.

A key factor is to remeber that it didn't come on before. ( I bought the car for 200 with a broken valve. Replaced it and it started right up. Engine is timed right and runs decent.) But after the TB was taken off and the ISC moved it likes to come on.

Anyone have a idea what the deal is?

If any clarification is needed just ask.

Thanks.

Jeff

EDIT: Almost forgot to add the year make and model. Doubt it will matter. 1993 Eclipse Gs(Non turbo) 7 bolt.

Here's the scoop on CEL. It could have been something you caused, or it may be something unrelated to what you done. Assume nothing. Go to Autozone and have it scanned for free.

We can go from there.

I've manually set many bad IAC and no check engine light. Prob a 02 or another related sensor. Have it scanned for free and get back to us on the post. We can come up with a solution.

Yes they should beable to atleast here in N.Illinois they do. The port is the under the steering column Knee pad I belive its the Left side if you were pointing fwd in the car.
