My check engine light comes on from time to time and when it does my dsm starts acting up. I looked through the threads and I did the key dance trick with the paper clip, but there's so much blinking going on that I lost count! I don't know if it's throwing out a lot of codes, or if some are just repeating :banghead:
Can anyone help PLEEASE

I recorded it so you guys can see what I'm saying

^^^ negative... parts stores have no way to test anything other than OBDII vehicles

ahem.... unless his car is OBDII equipped... then only a bigger shop (i.e.- NOT a parts store) will be able to help him for checking that light. it's a '95... it could be, it could not be... depends on if the car is a late enough '95.

What happened to my post?!

All 2G Turbo DSMs are OBDII, I'm not sure if a 95 N/T is OBDII as well. If your car is OBDII, you can stop by Autozone, Discount, etc and ask them to pull the codes.

If you car is indeed OBDI and you don't have a logger, then stop by Radioshack and buy a 12v buzzer and some alligator clips or connectors. Hook one up to PIN 1 and another to PIN 12 and count the beeps. Then check your manual or post back on how many beeps you heard.

Throwing codes could mean that an ECU is heading south on you. Or, the two heated o2 sensors are playing games on you.

Yea, you're an OBDII .. have someone to the code thing for you.

(Yea, I do the beeper/wire and alligator clip thing with my OBDI vehicle..works pretty slick..)

It's 95 n/t, so no chance of autozone or advanced auto parts :(
I probably counted wrong, but i got like 11, 21, 13, 14, 20, 10, etc.
I'm gonna try and see if I can borrow an obdI scan tool, because I really can't stand trying to count the blinks or all the jerking around it's doing before shifting! LOL but thanks anyway :)

ps: I'm a girl :hellyeah: LOL

I was originally going to do this trick, but last night I decided to try to do paper clips since I didn't have a volt meter on me. However, if I can't borrow the OBDI scan tool, then I'll try that. Thanks
My nickname is Dee too :thumb:
