Check engine light blinks then fades away

This only happens on start up, the light starts blinking then fades away as it warms up. At least that's what it seems like. Any insite to this, or comments or suggestions? This is on a completely stock 93 talon tsi awd 5 SPD

In my experience when a cel flashes it usually been related to a misfire. Find an obd scanner to check out to be sure.

you can go to auto parts and thell look it up. or maybe you have fuel cut. or a loose o2 or maf

I didn't know if it would be able to read the code since the light doesn't stay on, I'll see what I van do about getting an obd1 scanned. Thanks

I would think it would be related to your ignition system... coil pack maybe?

There is no misfire or anything the car runs great so that's why I'm at a loss plus I've never seen one just flash and fade away. Blinks are consistently separated

scan the car for codes, it is possible there is a code pending or one that has been stored in history. A flashing CEL means there is a type 'B' misfire which can cause damage to your catalytic converter

Codes are stored on the ECU for later so even if the light is not on it can be read.

Mine does that randomly while driving once in a blue moon. I've checked the DTCs in ECMLink and there is never anything there. I just ignore it, unless it stays on for 20 seconds or longer. In that case, i pull over and restart the car/restart the ecu. But i just found out my caps were leaking. So that might have been the cause.
