1G Charging issue

Afternoon guys! New to this fourm first post.
I just purchased a 1990 eagle talon working some kinks out of her to get it back on the road.. I recently ran into a charging issue with the altanator. Battery starts at 12.6 when started and slowly dies from there.it has a brand new altanator on it Ive had autozone check it twice they say it's good. I had the battery tested it's also good I've replaced altanator relay and fuse. Cleaned battery cables and put new grounds on nothing's changed. Can someone tell me what I'm missing??

Did you test fuse with an ohmmeter, not just look at it? They can have unseen hairline crack, etc. Is the alt yellow wire connected to battery +12V?

I did not test the fuse. I just replaced it. And yes the yellow wire that runs from the altanator to the battery are connected to one another. I tested the yellow wire at the back of the altanator and it cares the 12.6 volts the battery is giving off. Now if I follow steps 1-5 on the thread you pasted (thank you very much for that by the way) I fail on step 5 so apparently autozone has poopy parts that test good???

It's VERY COMMON to get bad alt's from autostores - just search these forums if you want to see.

Yea seems like it. heat seems to eat them up to. just seen a Saturn altanator and relocation kit. Gonna spend the cash and go that route I guess. Thanks a lot for the info

Sooo I was laying in bed last night thinking about how I tested the altanator according to this thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/2-minute-alternator-circuit-test.226323/ and I diagnosed it wrong im getting an #4 (a bad altanator relay or open circuit to the ignition switch) altanator relay is brand new so I think that rules that out. Is it possible the ignition switch is bad? I mean the car starts up.
