I was thinking about having my exhaust manifold ceramic coated since all the metal has lost its beautiful natural color.
How hot do tubular manifolds generally get? Will I be safe if I get a coating that protect up to 1300 degrees?

You'd be better off properly wraping a tubular manifold.

Wrapping a tubular manifold has lead to questionable longevity issues, and it is widely accepted that ceramic coatings, while being more expensive, are the safer route to go. Keep this in mind, OP.

Although, many people have wrapped their headers will little to no ill side effects. If you do use a header wrap, follow the procedure outlined in Tech Articles, for peace of mind.

I used Jet-hot for my tubular header, & it burned off after 2 months. I ported my stock 2G manifold & painted it with VHT flameproof manifold paint & it`s been over a year with no fading at all. I think the header gets too hot, & the ceramic coatings cannot withstand the extreme heat . . . :talon:

I love ceramic coating. We use a company called G&T in Fredericksburg (VA) and he has done ALL of my turbos kits and manifolds. Amazing coating that holds up awesome. The best part is the SUPER fast cool down. 10 of sitting and it's all cool to the touch.

Just curious, which Jet-hot option did you choose - 1300, extreme sterling, or 2000?

Could you post their contact info? I'd be curious to talk to them (since they're pretty close) and see how they compare to other companies. It's always good to hear of places supporting vendors recommend!
