All you do is pop out the vent and put the pod in place of it. 5 minutes tops

when i installed my driver side door gauge i had to duck tape the vent to stop the air from makeing the gauge fog up. but other then that the heat didn't seem to affect the gauge. just couldn't read it. but i don't know if its easy to install. i have the 2g but i hope i helped

The problem is that all the vent pods are just a plate and have no way of mounting the pod to the car. I have one that was for an safc & one 52mm meter and when I first installed it would always pop out at the track on a hard launch. I had to fab up a couple of mounting brackets to hold it in.

I've had both. Easy to install either one. The gauges will actually hold the center pod in place(it's a snug fit). You don't want to use glue it so you can replace the vent...like me. I switched over the the pillar mount because my girl friend likes to direct the heat on her. However the pillar does make the car look more like a ricer though.
