CEL light will not turn off

I cannot start my car. So far I have found that all kinds of things are clicking on the car when I turn the ignition on ex. tach jumps, stock boost gauge jumps, clicking from the ecu area and injectors are pulsing. I turn the ignition on and the check engine light just stays on but I have no codes. The car just turns over and will not start. Any thoughts?

Your profile says you have DSMLink. Did it connect? I assume that's how you checked for codes but I want to be sure.

If the MPI relay is repeatedly clicking or the injectors are with just the ignition on that would indicate the ECU isn't running correctly or you have really low voltage.

Steve, ecmlink will not connect either. I sent the ecu to the guys at ECMlink and they said everything looked good. I think the mpi thing u speak of is clicking, is it by the ecu closer to the shifter? When I try to jump start the car it gets really close to starting but ecmlink will not connect. Got the car to connect to ecmlink before I sent the ecu to the guys at ECM and the car started right up, this was about two weeks ago. Just cannot get it connect again. Plus the problems noted above. Sounds like your the guru, thanks

If you can't connect, how did you read the codes? There are two fault codes people overlook, constant on at the DLC and constant off. Both indicate that the ECU isn't working correctly on a normal ECU but with ECMLink installed you might see constant off since the normal setting default to ECMLink mode for communications rather than the OBD1 which would show a on - off heartbeat if the ECU was running.

Did you do anything to your ECU after you got it back. Did they check it with your Link installed?
I see problems like this when somebody put a chip in wrong or it's bad.

Thought it might be my ecu because I kept throwing all kinds of codes and the car would die. I sent the ecu in and they said it looked good and sent it back. I took it out of the box and put it in the car. I'm lost, ecmlink worked great for like two weeks and then everyday it just began to get worse till no my car will not start. I've had it for 2 months now. 3607209147 need to get this thing started. CHAD

Put the stock chip in the socket and shazzam! the car fired right up.

When you took the ECMLink out did you notice any bent pins, pins not in the socket, or perhaps it was backward?

The ECU behaves the way you described when it's not reading data from the EPROM correctly.
