The CEL has been ON since the car was purchased (1 month ago). The car has an aftermarket cold air intake, and I think that's what's causing the CEL to turn on. I was going to go and make sure everything's okay, but I first wanted to hear your opinions. The car runs smoothly no problems with the engine. Sorry for not being too detailed I'm kinda rushing.

Myself as for numerous others have been running cold air intakes on our 2G N/T for a while now without running a cel. if you had a 1G i would remind you that the MAS needs to be inside the intake path, but that's not the case with your car. if you have a CEL on it's because of something else unless the previous owner totally botched the intake job somehow and cut some wire or something (i don't know how, but not everyones got an iq of at least 95) Take the car to autozone and have them perform a free OBD2 scan and let us know what code they pull up and we can help you a lot better.

I went out and checked everything, you were right it wasn't the intake. I don't know much but about intakes but I know to install/uninstall one. So here's a pretty dumb question. While I was out there the intake was at a pretty warm temperature after letting the car sit for 10-15 minutes. Are cold air intakes supposed to heat up like this?

is it a solid 1 piece intake? chrome or painted finish? What temp is it outside? Are you running headers or the stock exhaust housing? Do you have a heat shield or thermal wrap? How close to your EGR exhaust pipe (goldish pipe about half an inch wide goes from the block to the intake manifold) is your intake? if you could take a couple of pictures of your engine bay i will be able to help you a lot better if i could see what is going on in there.

With the intake, are all of the hoses either capped or routed correctly? There is one hose that comes off of the valve cover you will either need to put a breather valve on or put a tube that attaches to the intake. if you already have a breather valve on, make sure the intake is either plugged off or has that hose connected to the intake.

What did autozone say the code was?

Outside the temp. is 57 degrees. It's a two-piece intake. Painted. Running with headers. Here is a picture.

i would suggest getting some header wrap to keep some of the engine temps down, also... the positioning of your intake cold be sucking in more warm air than you want and even tho you have a painted intake (which is good, it helps deflect heat off of the pipe, so that the pipe doesn't absorb as much heat and turn the air your pulling in warm). i would try to angle the intake away from the bottom of the block because the block gets very hot and keeping it tied to the coolant line doesn't seem too good either. Being tied to something is fine if you prefer it, but think how hot does your engine itself get? How hot does antifreeze get? Your probably sucking in some of those warm temps into your intake.

This is my engine bay

Yes I see. Thanks I'll face it towards the factory airbox area. Nice car by the way.
