Hey guys,

I just got a CEL code from my pocketlogger. It is P1103 turbocharger wastegate actuator. I have a Tial 38mm wastegate right now. I'm running 14 PSI. The wastegate has a 1.0 bar spring. What am I supposed to do with this code? I cleared it with my pocketlogger, but why did the code appear? It happened right after I went WOT for about 1 second. Please explain. Thank you.

I just fixed my own problem. I checked the vacuum hose that goes from my MBC to the wastegate, and the nipple fixture on the wastegate was loose. I just re-torqued it and my problem was solved. For any of you guys that get this CEL code in the future, you can thank me later.:thumb:

I am getting this code whenever I WOT, but I have an internal wastegate on a E316G. I get the code whenever I WOT and my car bucks HARD, which I was thinking was fuel cut. Now i'm wondering if it's a wastegate malfunction. Sexytoy69, did your car have a fuel-cut bucking type symptom when you got the code? And also, what could be causing this with an internal gate system?

No, I did not get a bucking symptom. What I got was a boost creep symptom. My boost was set at 15 PSI, but when I got the code it jumped to 20 PSI. Check the vacuum hose that goes from your boost controller to your wastegate. Check for any leaks. If the hose is old or leaky, just replace it. If not, you might have a defective wastegate. Hopefully, someone else will give some input on this.

If you do ever need a new internal wastegate, I have a brand new one that came with the turbo. I took it off when I got the turbo and just went with the Tial 38mm. Let me know if you need it because I was going to put it on ebay.

I have another problem with either my wastegate or my Hallman boost controller. I am overboosting big time. My boost gauge is going all the way to around 30 PSI. I have set my manual boost controller at 15 PSI, but about a week ago I started to overboost all of a sudden. I'm not sure if it's my wastegate or my MBC that is causing the problem. How do I diagnosis this problem? Thanks.
