catback exhaust

what is catback exhaust like wat does it mean

and wat is it instead of or what are the options when puttin exhaust on ur car

cause im gettin exhaust and i need to know what i want

help . . . .?

cat-back means catalitic converter and back.

Essentially the back half of your exhaust. Good for about 10HP, better to get a downpipe at the same time to see big gains, don't piss into a funnell. Downpipe is the first part of the exhaust after the manifold.

I just have a Apex cat back now, and stock downpipe. How much whp could I gain with a Apex downpipe? Thanks!

can't give you a # but turbo cars gain huge HP compared to N/a engines. Supra's get like 80HP from 3" turbo back

the O2 housing would be the first part of the exhaust system after the manifold.

wat type of cat-backs are better sound wise - like not too rice but not quiet , kinda more deep

cause im gettin headers wit a downpipe like tomorrow off some guy pretty cheap and i was gonna redo my exhaust

cause all i did was somethin ghetto - i just cut out the muffler welded in a str8 pipe and put a tip on it

but im thinkin ,after spendin 75 on these headers to spend around 200 more on the rest

any suggestions would be amazingly appreciated , it would also be cool as hell as why u think so, like why ur part is better haha

since you are n/a, you wouldnt have a downpipe. but as for exhausts, check out RNR, apex N1, thermal, buschur, RRE exhaust systems. all these are popular among the dsm community.

on the subject of cat backs, i have another question. I bought an N-1 system and an apex downpipe at the same time. the cat back exhaust came with a 3"-2 1/2" reducer that bolts on but the downpipe didn't. What can I do? Thanx.

your saying the dp didn't bolt onto the catback, with the cat-converter still there?

that reducer is for when you have the stock cat in there. it bolts to then end of the CAT so you can go from 2.25 to 3 inches. When you install the Apex downpipe you elimiate the cat, therefore elimating that reducer as well

so youre saying that there isnt supposed to be a catalytic converter at all? that is definitely not street legal in Ohio. should I just buy a 3 inch cat converter?

if you have the apexi dp, and u want to run a cat then u cant use thar DP. btw its illegal everywhere, if u have emissions testig u might wnt to get a diff DP that allows for the use of a cat
