hi I was thinking about getting the Apexi N1 Down pipe and catback. The question is is it worth not having a cat? I live in new york what are the chances of trouble? It is a daily driver. Thanks Andrew

if they do visual inspections when you get emitions done you will most likly fail. you best bet would be to get a down pipe from rre or some other company where you can have a test pipe but then bolt in a cat for emitions :thumb:

Well, if you are talking about performance and not passing emisions tests....
Seeing on how you are turbo, I'd say NO CAT.
You don't need the back pressure to build low end torque and the free flowing will help spool the turbo.
If you were non turbo, run a cat... too little backpressure and you lose all low end torque.

i doubt anyone in the city cares if you have a cat or not. if i was a cop i sure as hell wouldn't get on my knees to check :p I ran a testpipe for about a year before i put it on for emissions.

although my car doesn't sound like a boat on crack anymore.. it doesn't smell either :)
